It has been a tough go on the Ocean as of late. Either we have some type of tropical system off the coast or enough of our own wind kicking up to have made Ocean fishing a challenge.
A howling NW wind created a sharp 4' shop with some nice 6 footers thrown in. 2 Guys totaled 10 nice Seabass in the box along with a couple dozen shorts and 10 Fluke including a heart breaker of over 20 inches.
I was talking to some divers who were on the wreck we were fishing. As soon as we get some settling and clearer water the wrecks should really come to life.
We will be out giving it one final go for the year before switching over to some heavy wreck fishing. Cod have been caught all summer by the boats fishing offshore wrecks and Cod really don't like the summer.
Looks like another great weekend ahead for anglers and beach goers alike. It seems to me that the only thing that could possibly put a damper on a great Fluke catching weekend is the tropics and the line up of 3 storms.
The fish will be heading out of the inlet soon and the Ocean Fluking should be better than the Bay in both size and numbers. A few drifts yesterday produced only a single flattie in the Bay.
